Evaluate the Connectivity of your Data Center Site

3 Phase Approach

Phase 1: Technical Assessment

Our process begins with Phase 1, a fundamental evaluation of the existing fiber infrastructure surrounding potential data center locations, including the underlying owner, underground and aerial capacity, both lit and dark, and the ability to support a new data center location. Phase one gives you a foundational roadmap.

Phase 2: Route Analysis

Phase 2 is a more detailed examination of the carriers’ network, manhole splice locations, and a high-level strategic planning approach. Last-mile routing and planning, study of right-of-way (ROW) for preferred routing. ROM costing and deployment approach.

Phase 3: Implementation Support

In Phase 3 we create plans for connectivity from major infrastructure to the data center facility, including route diversity considerations, technology selection, and cost optimization. The developer’s/operators’ strategy will dictate the next steps. This can include writing RFPs, producing engineering drawings, managing construction, and more.

Frequently asked questions

Understand how Edgeology’s services streamline complex infrastructure decisions, align critical dependencies, and accelerate your data center project from concept to execution.

How does Edgeology accelerate early-stage site selection?Edgeology quickly filters potential sites by validating power availability, fiber access, and jurisdictional feasibility upfront. This eliminates unworkable options early and allows teams to focus only on parcels that can realistically support development timelines.

How does Edgeology help reduce delays related to power and utilities?By engaging utilities early and analyzing grid capacity, substation proximity, and interconnection timelines, Edgeology provides a clear view of when power can actually be delivered not just when it’s promised. This prevents projects from stalling due to unexpected utility constraints.

Can Edgeology speed up network and fiber planning?Yes. Edgeology maps existing fiber routes, identifies carrier presence, and designs scalable network strategies early in the process. This ensures connectivity is not an afterthought and avoids costly redesigns or delays later in development.

How does Edgeology improve overall project execution speed?Edgeology aligns critical stakeholders developers, utilities, network providers, and local authorities—early in the lifecycle. By removing uncertainty and coordinating dependencies upfront, projects move from concept to construction faster with fewer disruptions.
